Often called Bullhead, this
square-tailed catfish with white underparts is found throughout southern Ontario
and as far north as Mattawa. Brown Bullheads spawn in shallow waters in spring,
and the male guards the young for some weeks. Average weight is ½ lb. (250 g).
This fish is found in Rice Lake, Chemong Lake, Pigeon Lake, Stoney Lake,
Buckhorn Lake and more. |
